Everything you need to know

What documents do I need to rent a car?

A valid Indian driving licence (front + back) and Aadhaar card. Upload them once in the app and you're verified for life. Both are encrypted at rest and never shared with third parties.

Is my Aadhaar safe with Keyrorentals?

Yes. Aadhaar numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Only the last 4 digits are ever shown in the app. We use it solely for KYC verification as required under Indian motor vehicle regulations.

What's the refund policy?

Cancel up to 6 hours before pickup for a full refund. 6–2 hours: 50% refund. Under 2 hours: no refund. Refunds hit your account within 5–7 working days via Razorpay.

What if the car breaks down during my trip?

Tap "Report issue" in the app or call +91 95156 78715. We arrange roadside assistance or a replacement vehicle wherever possible. Time lost is credited back to you.

What happens if I have an accident?

Make sure everyone is safe first. Call local police if anyone is injured. Then open the trip and tap "Report issue". Every Keyrorentals rental includes basic third-party insurance. Premium hosts may offer additional own-damage cover.

Do I need a credit card?

No. We accept UPI, debit cards, credit cards, and net-banking via Razorpay. A refundable security deposit is held during the trip and released after the vehicle return inspection.

Can I extend my booking mid-trip?

Yes. Open the booking and tap "Extend" — the host gets a notification and you pay the difference instantly. Subject to the host's calendar availability.

How are Keyrorentals captains vetted?

Every captain undergoes Aadhaar + DL verification (3-year minimum experience), a police background check, and an in-person interview in Hyderabad before they get their first job.

How do hosts get paid?

Weekly payouts directly to your bank account, every Monday. Keyrorentals takes a 15–20% platform fee depending on the plan. You see the breakdown for every booking inside the app.

I want to delete my account.

Email support@keyrorentals.com from your registered email with subject "Account deletion". We close the account within 7 working days. Trip records required by Indian tax law are retained.
